About the Program
The Stirling program offers the opportunity to enroll in a range of courses across a variety of disciplines at the University of Stirling, one of the top-rated academic institutions in Scotland. Recognized as a leading institution for communications and media, philosophy, social policy, criminology, politics, marketing, and sport, the university is also ideal for studying a wide range of subject areas – including biology, business and management, computing, economics, environmental sciences, film, history, journalism, and more. The university also offers several courses each term focused on Scottish and U.K. studies. You may choose to participate in one or two summer sessions, a single fall or spring semester, or a full academic year.
An exciting mix of old and new, the city of Stirling has a growing reputation as one of the most attractive places to live in the United Kingdom. It has emerged as a leading cultural and business center, with on-going regeneration in both industry and the arts.
Outside the classroom, rich campus student life and other opportunities contribute to your experience of Scottish culture. Included field trips to locations throughout the country give you a chance to explore surrounding areas and deepen your knowledge and understanding of Scottish culture and history.
There are several excellent reasons for deciding to study in Scotland. Courses at Scottish universities are taught by professors who do almost all the teaching and seminar work with undergraduates while maintaining a high level of research activity. Although English is widely spoken throughout the United Kingdom, Scotland has maintained its own diverse traditions, values, and views of the world. Time in Scotland will challenge you personally, open your eyes to different ways of looking at the current topics in our world, and enable you to experience Scottish culture and history.
